— A Lake Park man was arrested for assault on Tuesday after he admitted to confronting his girlfriend over the possibility of her trying to cast a spell on him.
Rubin Leonard Hugee, 29, is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond. He is facing charges of aggravated assault and battery.
Riviera Beach Police officers were dispatched to the 700 block of West 5th Street on Tuesday where they found Hugee and his girlfriend of seven years standing in the yard of a home. The girlfriend was holding her hands to her face and crying, according to the probable cause affidavit.
The 28-year-old woman, whose name is withheld in the affidavit, told officers she had gone to her godmother’s house seeking relationship advice when Hugee showed up and began to argue. S
